Hedges - Hedge Trimming and Hedgelaying

Hedge trimming is usually carried out using a mechanical trimmer. The height of the cutting can be increased a little every year. Trimming a hedge helps to promote bushy growth. The disadvantage of heavy trimming is that some hedge species can then take a number of years before they will flower again and subsequently bear fruit.

K&S Treecare can organise a regular trimming schedule for your hedge, or where necessary we can do a full hedge assessment followed by more fundamental work.

If hedges are not maintained or are trimmed infrequently it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the hedge dense, even and attractive and gaps tend to form at the base over many years.
